1. What is Full-Grain Leather?

Full-grain leather refers to the top layer of the hide that originally contained the hair. It has
not been sanded, buffed, or snuffed (as opposed to top-grain or corrected leather) in order to remove
natural marks or imperfection on the surface of the hide. Rather than wearing out, it will develop a natural
patina over time. The finest leather furniture is made from full-grain leather, which is considered the best
quality leather you can buy.

2. What is Top-Grain Leather?

Top-grain leather is the second-highest quality. Its surface has been sanded and refinished. Its two
advantages over full-grain leather are that it is typically less expensive, and has greater resistance to stains. This leather
is highly recommended for everyday residental use.

3. What is Corrected-Grain?

Corrected-grain leather is any leather that has had an artificial grain applied to its surface. The hide's imperfections are corrected, its surface has been sanded, buffed or snuffed and an artificial grain applied (embossed). Corrected grain leather provides a great combination of durability and value.

4. Why does Sofa So Good sell Bonded or Bicast Leather furniture?

Bonded leather or reconstituted leather is a material made of leather fibers combined with other substances to give the
appearance of leather. Bonded leather is a polyurethane or vinyl product, backed with fabric and then a layer of latex or other material mixed with a small amount of leather fibers in the products backing material. The surface of bonded leather contains no leather fibers.

Bicast is split leather with a layer of polyurethane or vinyl applied to the surface and then embossed. The use of the term
"leather" in relation to bicast treatment is considered a misrepresentation. Furniture made with bicast exhibits none of the characteristics associated with genuine leather; it will not develop a patina, suppleness or otherwise "improve with age".

They are not strong enough to be used on furniture the end result would be a surface that would crack and split from its backing with constant use.
