Custom Sofa FAQs

1. Once I place my order for a custom sofa, how long does it take to make?

Manufacturing and delivery usually runs between 4 - 8 weeks. Sometimes we can be more specific about the date once you have selected the style and fabric. The beauty of ordering a custom sofa is that you get all the features you want which is a greater benefit than the wait time.

2. I need a sofa and/or new seating right now. Can you help me?

Yes we can. Sofa So Good has a good selection of " Sofas To Go" which means we can deliver your new furniture within a day or two of purchase.

The other option is that you can take advantage of our "Loaner Sofa" program to tide you over until your custom sofa or seating arrives.

Place your custom order and we can deliver one of our free loaner sofas to you (delivery and pick up is extra).

3. A custom sofa, won't that be expensive?

When we say custom sofa, we are referring to selecting from many standard options available from the manufacturer. Most people wish to be able to choose from a selection of items (sofa versus studio sofa versus sofa bed) different fabrics, cushion fillings, leg shapes, framing and colors, etcetera.

Our custom sofas start at $998 with a choice of over 300 fabrics!

4. There is a lot of cheap imports out there! Do you have anything that is made locally?

Absolutely. As a matter of fact, 90% of the products we sell are manufactured right here in B.C. Most of which are produced in the lower mainland.

5. What happens when I get my custom sofa and I realize I have made a huge mistake?

No problem. Sofa So Good is the only store that we know of, in Canada, that offers the following unique " Reselection Policy": if you don't like your custom sofa, for any reason, you may return it and select something else (delivery is extra). You no longer have to worry if you get that "What was I thinking” thought!

6. You keep using the words "Custom Sofa", but I need a sectional. Do you have custom Sectionals?

Yes, when we use the words ‘custom sofas”, it is the quickest way to say custom sectionals (with or without sofa beds), custom sofa beds, custom loveseats, custom studio or condo sofas (smaller than a sofa but larger than a loveseat), custom oversized chairs, custom small chairs, custom chaise lounges, custom dining chairs, custom upholstered beds, custom upholstered headboards, custom ottomans (also with storage), custom ottomans with sofa beds, custom chaise lounges with sofa beds...

6. If I don't find a fabric I like, can I bring in my own?

Yes, of course you can. However, most people find one (or more) they like from our selection of over 4000 swatches.

7. I have no clue what I am doing or where to start, it's so overwhelming. Can you help?

Absolutely, you have come to the right place. Our Sofa Experts have been in the business for many years (you can tell just by looking at them!) What seems like a daunting task with so many choices can be simplified. We are not here to sell you anything. We are here to help you through what should be, a fun experience, finding the sofa you love. It's a big commitment. One typically has their sofa anywhere from five to twenty years or more.

Heck, some people enjoy their sofa longer than their significant other!

(don't forget to tell the one who didn't get the sofa about us, ok?) And with our Reselection policy, you will never be stuck with a sofa from Sofa So Good that you don't like!

8. I can barely swing my cat in my condo, its way too small. Do you have sofas or seating that will fit?

One of our specialties is smaller scaled items. Most of our full size sofas are available as “Studio or Condo Sofas”. The Studio or Condo sofa is smaller than a sofa but larger than a loveseat. There’s room to lay down, lots of room for two, cozy for three. If you are really spatially challenged, most of our items come without any arms, saving you even more space. We also have dual purpose items such as sofa beds, ottomans with sofa beds inside, storage ottomans and more to help you get the most comfort out of your limited square footage.

9. I need a fabric that will stand up!! Did I mention I have 2 kids and a cat?

We have a myriad of fabrics in all textures and colors, primarily constructed with synthetic fibers designed to be used everyday. Most of the newer Microfibers are very “Pet Friendly”. The Fibers of the fabric are very small and are woven together so tightly that most cat claws cannot get a hold of the fabric.

This also means most food/beverage spills will not penetrate the fabric, making clean-up a breeze. One of our Sofa Experts can show you which fabrics are more appropriate for households with two or four legged animals.

10. Ok, I have found the sofa of my dreams at your shop. How do I get rid of my old one?
